Inelastic response of cable-stayed bridges subjected to non-uniform motions

This paper studies for the first time effect of spatial variability ground motions (SVGM) with large intensities on inelastic seismic response pylons which are responsible overall structural integrity cable-stayed bridges. The svgm is defined by delay earthquake at different supports, loss coherency waves and incidence angle motion. An extensive study conducted bridges ‘H’- inverted ‘Y’-shaped main spans 200, 400 600 m. most detrimental to pylon 200-m span bridge owing stiffness this compared its longer counterparts. stiff configuration makes it more susceptible against multi-support excitation than flexible ‘H’-shaped pylon, especially in transverse direction response. Finally, strongly linked should be included design
